Visiting Author/Illustrator to Schools

I love visiting schools to talk about my book and how I came to write it. I show the children an exciting video sneak peak inside the book and field lots of questions.

Then I visit their class rooms one by one to read passages from the book and show more illustrations.

After that I give them a drawing demonstration focusing on how to add movement to their own drawings. We also talk about language and how to effectively describe the characters they create.

On a pre-prepared worksheet the children then create their own characters and write a descriptive sentence about them.

At the end of the day the children and their carers, Mums and Dads can buy a signed and personalised copy of the book.

My recent visit to High Littleton Primary School

Key Stage 2 thoroughly enjoyed their visit from Pete.  The class workshops were engaging and all the children were excited to have a go 'illustrating' under Pete's guidance and enjoyed listening to extracts from Pete's novel. We would thoroughly recommend a visit!

year 5

We had a fabulous morning. I read passages from the book, showed my illustrations on the big screen, gave some key drawing tips and helped the children draw and describe their own characters.
